With our 20th Anniversary in 2026, we are reflecting on the growth in our programs, partnerships, and produce production, and thinking about how to ensure we can continue to grow and provide garden education to build curiosity, connection, healthy habits, and environmental stewardship in the next generation. Currently, seasonal grants and one-time donations leave us scrambling to fund next season's seeds, supplies, and teaching staff.
Our new Community Supported Education initiative is designed to create a committed community of supporters that provides predictable funding we can count on as we embark on our next 20 years. Monthly giving provides the stable foundation we need to plan curriculum, maintain our gardens, and guarantee every child—regardless of their school's resources—has access to hands-on learning that nourishes both body and mind. Read on to learn how Community Supported Education works!

What is
"Community Supported Education"?
Just like a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) share connects you to local farmers and produce, Community Supported Education (CSE) connects you to local school gardens, educators, and students. Our monthly membership program allows for direct "buy-in" to the hands-on learning helping to cultivate the next generation of food growers, scientists, and change-makers.
Why is
"Community Supported Education" important?
Our impact is amplified through consistent, stable support. Every membership provides this predictable support, allowing Mountain Roots Education to cultivate thriving school gardens, equip educators, and empower students to get their hands in the soil — for the next 20 years!
Each tier represents a share in the harvest of education — the collective impact your support makes possible. Together we can grow more.

Who benefits from
"Community Supported Education"?
When you become a CSE member, your contribution helps Mountain Roots Education:
-
Build and maintain school gardens
-
Provide seeds, soil, and teaching materials
-
Fund hands-on lessons that inspire curiosity and care for the earth
-
Create organizational sustainability to continue this important work for generations to come
Together, we can grow a generation that understands where food comes from—and how to nourish both people and the planet
